• Question: which of the rocks are really old?

      Hello Science Expert! It was good talking to you the other day! Some of the rocks from the Moon are really old. The oldest I have studied is 3.8 Billion years old! To put that into perspective, the dinosaurs went extinct only 65 Million years ago (note billion versus million!!). The old rocks can tell us so much about how the Earth and the Moon formed. We don’t have that many old rocks from Earth as they have been destroyed so we rely on old Moon rocks! : -)
