Science is definitely fun, but it’s the kind of fun that is not instantaneous. It does not come just from slapping your fingers, but also lasts for way longer. For me the part that is most fun is trying to solve a puzzle, to create many solutions, to try to look at the data and the Universe in different perspectives and then to test our understanding by pointing an actual telescope.

It’s also fun to understand that most of the times we are completely wrong and that is more than ok. Science is not about being right. It’s about understanding to understand how wrong we can be, and just never giving up on trying to understand and make sense of things, together, so we can then share them freely with the entire world and others can see even further.

I think my job is lots of fun! I run computer programs to forecast the weather on Mars and I love seeing what data comes out that I can plot up on graphs and pictures to see what it tells me. Even when the programs don’t work properly, it is satisfying to solve the problem and get them working again.
