Hi Nine396, Great question. There is so far no evidence for life. But there is evidence for water. The rock samples I study contain water!! Not as much as we have on Earth though. There is also some water locked up in the south pole ice on the Moon! We didn’t know this 10+ years ago so it really is exciting! 🙂

There is evidence of water on the moon but it is found in craters as ice. Because the sun doesn’t shine there, it doesn’t get heated by the sun and evaporate. And also there is likely to be water ice mixed in with the ground. So one day if people are living on the moon, they could use it. Water ice can even be found on Mercury, which is the closest planet to the sun, also hiding in craters, where it is cooler.

There’s definitely water on the Moon, and there’s basically water everywhere in the Universe.

Life is another issue. There’s been life on the moon, but only when we got there.
