      Hello Jessica, that’s a good question because not everyone comes straight to science after school : -) I was first interested in rocks from Earth – in particular, rocks from volcanoes! I still love volcanic rocks and study those as well as Moon rocks. Studying Moon rocks happened by chance because there was a PhD that was being offered at the Open University in the space sciences department. I thought it sounded interesting and that’s how I go into it! It was after my undergraduate degree and masters degree so I was in my 30s! : -)
