All of the planets spin at a different rate. So they all have days that are different lengths. So the Earth’s day is 24 hours long, while Mars, which I study, has a day that is 24 hours and 37 minutes long. Meanwhile Jupiter’s day lasts just under 10 hours!

Venus is quite a slow spinner: it takes 243 days to do it. It makes a “Day” in Venus longer than a “year” on it which is crazy!

Hello grew396, that’s a good science question. The Earth spins every 24 hours, so that the Sun rises and sets again in 24 hours. Other planets spin more quickly, like Jupiter and others spin more slowly like Venus. All of the planets are different due to their space history such as if they were hit by a large passing asteroid! : -)
